"I'll Be Seeing You" CD to Benefit Foundation
Michael Allen Harrison is recognized as a Steinway Signature Artist who has developed a reputation as a multifaceted pianist with a career spanning over two decades playing classical, new age/world, and contemporary jazz. Since the release of his inaugural album in 1986, Michael has released more than 40 albums that span a variety of composing styles. His universal appeal has touched audiences worldwide from listeners in the space shuttles Endeavor and Discover, to performances for President Clinton, Vice President Al Gore, Quincy Jones, Walter Cronkite, Margaret Thatcher, Colin Powell and the Dalai Lama.
Michael’s talents as a producer, composer, and arranger have given him a national recognition for writing film scores for many motion pictures, short films and documentaries. Although he is world renown, he is best known and loved in his hometown of Portland, Oregon.
In 2004, the Portland Downtown Lions club awarded Michael The Pride of Portland Award for his countless contributions to the community including his production of "I'll Be Seeing You," a 10-song CD with vision related titles composed for Vision Northwest’s 20th anniversary. It includes I Only Have Eyes for You, When Irish Eyes are Smiling, Smoke Gets in Your Eyes, and an original composition called Inside the Eye.
Since closing in 2009, Vision Northwest donated their CDs to various vision-related nonprofits. Lion Don Roach, who was on their Board, gave 89 CDs to the Oregon Lions Sight & Hearing Foundation. They are now available for $10.00 each, with proceeds going toward funding Foundation programs and services.
