Foundation History
Since 1959, the Oregon Lions Sight & Hearing Foundation has taken an active role in protecting the health of Oregonians. Through seven direct service programs related to sight, hearing and health assistance, the Foundation has transformed the lives of hundreds of thousands of youths and adults in our state. We offer consistent access and critical health solutions to the most vulnerable members of our community who are uninsured or under insured.
This year marks our 50th Anniversary, which will be commemorated with celebrations at the district and multiple district conventions, culminating with a sold-out 50th Anniversary Gala Dinner on July 25, 2009 at the Willamette Country Club in Canby.
Our 50th Anniversary is a wonderful opportunity to pay tribute to our past while paving the way for the future as we emerge as one of Oregon's premier non-profits.
We believe it is crucial to reach out to underserved populations, particularly where geography, language or cultural barriers may present challenges to accessing preventative care and appropriate follow up.
Join us in fulfilling the vision of our Founders and Lions: To provide life changing sight, hearing and health assistance in your community!
